SteriHealth help customers understand the benefits of segregating waste streams, minimizing their waste generation, and properly disposing of their non-medical or toxic waste materials, such as mercury and pharmaceutical waste.

We are helping more and more of our customers segregate their waste streams, which reduces the need for incineration.

By use of specialised licenced SteriHeath Hammer Mills, this renders medical waste unrecognizable and thus more acceptable for landfills. It also reduces waste volume.

Reduce, Re-use, Recycle

The re-usable SharpSmart system is also incredibly environmentally friendly.  With each container being used over 300+ times, this massively reduces the amount of plastic generated in disposable sharps containers whilst reducing the amount of landfill as a result.  Recycled water is used to clean and sterilize the containers prior to reuse in healthcare institutions.

Reducing Carbon Footprints

SteriHealth believe in using the RIGHT means of disposal of medical waste - rather than just incinerating everything.  This allows customers to rest easy that their waste carbon footprint is a small as possible.

Using the appropriate means for disposal is based on the waste itself.  SteriHealth use the EPA as the benchmark to ensure that this philosophy is upheld.  As a result, in an effort to keep the environmental impact of incineration to a minimum, we only incinerate waste that the EPA mandate must be incinerated.
